At mindmapsearch.org, there is a search box that will look only at well-known mind mapping sites orindividual useful articles on mind mapping. This search box ignores the sites made to advertise, the trivial three-line posts about someone's new mind-map, and pages for old software on software download sites.
Google search in searchfor that same word). Choose the form of words carefully: If you search for "novel" you will have many results that mention, for example,"novel ideas" and "a novel approach". There is no need to include "mind mapping" or "mind maps" in the search box. It is implied by the pre-screening of the sites from which the results come.
As well as searching, you can learn about mind mapping from the pagesunderlying the search engine - its list of sites is set out over several pages, categorizedso thatyou can browse and explore. Click here for theireducation and trainingpage.

Many of the software packagesare free or at least have a free version, though it may be limited in some way. Be sure to check the many browser-based mindmapping software services that have been introducedduring 2007. These nearly all have a free option that allows you to have several maps, and collaborate with others in buildinga map. There are at least twelve of these.
Mind-mapping.org allows you to select your operatingsystem and type of software if you want to narrow down the list. (If you don't you will seearound 200 items.) To see the browser-based ones, click on the "Refine software list" tab, select "web based" from the Operating systems column and click on the "show selected items" button.
the software. The list includes price, and thathelps a lotwhenselecting software.
