Using a Mind Map instead of a Powerpoint presentation!
Rather than producing and using a Powerpoint presenation, a Mind Map can be used - the advantage of this are
- The students will see how the items being discussed relate to each other
- You can expand branches as you discuss them (i.e. start with a simple map, then open it out as you go through).
- You can add a branch - mid session if needed (e.g. student contribution)
- If you have access to screen capturing software (e.g. camtasia, captivate) you can use the mind map, the screen capturing software and create an online presentation, expanding and collapsing branches, highlighting features etc, as you talk
