Group discussion followed by individual research!

This example is a good way of helping students to construct an assignment.

 

Create a very basic map which could be a topic in the centre with say 3 questions branching off.

Get the class to work in groups of 4 or 5 to brainstorm ideas onto the map for no more than 10 minutes

Save the map and distribute to the learners

Get the learners to individually develop the map, moving items around to give meaning, adding extra branches, prioritising branches etc.

Learners export the map to Word, and add the text and they have a well constructed assignment.
