Adding a Hyperlink to a Branch!

It is possible to add a link or multiple links to a branch in a mind map. The links could be to the internet or to files.

To add a hyperlink to a branch, right click on the branch, and select the Attachements option (Green paperclick), then choose Add.

Linking to the Internet!!

To add a link to the internet, type (or paste) the URL into the lower box, and put the name of the website into the higher box, and click OK

To view the link click on the green paper click on the branch, this will list the hyperlinks, and select the desired one, to open the website

Linking to a file!!

Instead of putting the URL into the lower box, use the yellow 'browse' icon to the right of this box, find the desired file and select 'Open' then click OK.

Note - when linking to files, Mind Genius creates an 'absolute path', rather than a 'relative path'. What this means is that if you move the Mind Genius file (and the destination file) to a different computer, the link may not work. There are ways around this (for example working entirely from a floppy disk works!) - If using the mind map in a teaching situation, it is worth checking before committing.
